There is no safety concern behind the nationwide recall of 800,000 doses of H1N1 vaccine for children. The vaccine is not as potent as it should be, but it does stimulate an immune response and parents do not need to revaccinate any children. Public health officials are reminding parents that all children six months through 9 years of age need two doses of vaccine. Families are urged to get vaccinated before the holidays to prevent illness as people gather together. For more information about the recalled vaccine, click here.
