School Health
Health promotion, prevention education, screenings and early intervention services are provided to students in the school setting as part of school nurse services. These services are provided via a contract in 8 counties between the schools and the Southeastern District Health Department.
The most popular of the school contract services are as follows:
- Vision screenings
- Musculoskeletal physical assessment and referrals for grades 6 & 8.
- Maturation classes
- Flu vaccine, at a reduced cost, for school personnel.
The staff and administration of Southeastern District Health Department appreciate the opportunity to provide services to students, staff and school administrators. We believe it is important to promote prevention messages early, consistently, and in the appropriate setting.
